Paper Submission

All submissions will be rigorously peer reviewed and evaluated on the quality, originality, soundness, and significance of their contributions. Original research papers are solicited in all aspects of Optimization, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology and Computational Biology, including but not limited to the above topics.

The proceedings of the conference will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Operations Research (LNOR), and will be available at the conference. Papers of LNOR OSB 2008 will be submitted to ISI for ISTP index. The selected papers are going to be published on the special issue of IET Systems Biology and International Journal of Bioinformatics Research and Applications (IJBRA) on OSB 2008.

The papers should be written in English. While submitting your abstract, please make sure it has included the following information:

  • Title of the paper
  • Abstract of the paper (within 400 words)
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the authors
  • Postal address and e-mail address of the authors

At least one author is required to register to OSB 2008 and to attend the symposium to present the paper. Please note that ONLY one paper can be published in proceedings for one registered participant. Simultaneous submission of papers to any other conference with published proceedings or submitting previously published papers is not allowed. Only on-line submissions (in ps or pdf formats) are acceptable.

Format for accepted papers

Please submit the revised final manuscript to http://www.easychair.org/OSB2008/. When you submit the revised manuscript, please select the existing submission in "My Submissions" to submit a new version. Note that do NOT create new submission. The format of the accepted file should be either Microsoft Word (file extension .doc) or LaTeX (file extension .tex). For the LaTeX file, if there are figures in your manuscript, please compress all files in a ZIP file (file extension .zip) or gzipped tarball (file extension .tgz).

Each paper should not exceed 8 pages (Text size is 195mm x 125mm, font size is 10.5pt in Word or 11pt in LaTeX. Papers that occupy more than 8 pages will incur an additional charge of US$20 for each excess page and the maximum acceptable pages are 15. The proceedings will be printed in black and white mode. Therefore please modify your color figures so that they can be understandable in black and white mode.
