Call for Highlights

Submission to highlights track is by invitation generally. If you are interested in it and think your work worth to be presented and "highlighted", please contact us by email (see the following section).

The Highlights Track has become an important format in many well-known conferences such as ISMB and ECCB. ISB 2018 will adopt this format and feature a special Highlights Track that will run as one major part of the conference (about 30 min for each). Highlights Track aims to introduce 'hot' topics that will be interested to general audiences of the community.

We invite the submission of highlights, with that the corresponding papers have been published, or accepted for publication, between January 1, 2017 and the submission deadline, July 15, 2018. Invited presenters for the Highlights sessions are required to make the presentation themselves, and must register and pay to attend the conference. Submissions are solicited in all aspects, as long as they importantly influence computational biology and bioinformatics. We encourage you to submit a potential highlight on an area that you deem as important to the computational biology community and may impact the future of the field directly. While submitting your abstract, please make sure it has included the following information:

  • Title of the abstract/paper
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the authors
  • Abstract of the paper (within 400 words)
  • The publication information of the highlight paper(s) (may with other related references)
We also consider expanding this event to excellent graduate students (limited in number) who have published/finished a valuable work recently. Please recommend your students to present his/her recent work in the student highlights session. This call is an invitation for scientists and professionals to submit Highlights proposals for the Highlights Track for ISB 2018, to take place in Guiyang, China, between the dates of August 18-21, 2018.
